Why this research site…
To highlight the contribution of artists, artisans, and professors who worked to develop Aboriginal creation in Canada.
To highlight the methodologies and epistemologies on which Manitou College’s artistic culture was based and to foster contemporary critical historiographic reflection in art history and research-creation.
To make the collected data available to different communities of researchers, students and citizens and thus participate in the calls to action recommended in the report of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada (2015).
Because Manitou College is an institutional model that can help us imagine, today, pragmatic and realistic ways of collaboration.
